What Socolai is
An AI tutor that guides your child with questions instead of handing over the answer. It is an early pilot with a small group of students. The AI can make mistakes, so your child should always double-check the work.
What we collect
Photos of homework problems, typed questions, handwriting from the writing pad, the chat with the tutor, your child’s first name (so we can tell students apart), and any feedback comment your child chooses to write.
Results from follow-up practice problems (whether your child solved a similar problem independently or needed more tries), optional short exit survey answers (whether the tutor was helpful or frustrating), and results from an optional offline check with you to see what stuck.
Your child does not need an email address or a password. They sign in with an access code that we give to you.
From you we keep your name, your email address, your child’s first name, the version of this form and the time you agreed.
Who handles it
To make Socolai work we use: OpenAI (United States), which receives your child’s text and photos to write the tutor’s replies and may keep them for up to 30 days for safety checks, and which does not use them to train its models; Supabase (Singapore) to store the database and photos; Vercel (United States) to host the website; and Sentry (European Union) to catch crashes, which receives error names and random identifiers only, never chat content, photos or names.
How long we keep it
Photos are removed after 30 days. Chat transcripts are kept until you ask us to delete them, or until 12 months after the last activity on that problem, whichever comes first. Feedback comments are deleted with their problem. Your consent record is kept while your child uses Socolai, and deleted 12 months after you withdraw.
Who can see it
We do not sell data or show it to other families. The person running the pilot, or a designated educator reviewing pedagogical quality, can read sessions when fixing a problem or reviewing how the tutor behaves. You can ask to see your child’s sessions at any time.
Your choices
Saying yes is your choice, and you can change your mind at any time using the withdraw page or by emailing support@socolai.com. We reply within 14 days and delete data within 30 days of a deletion request. Please remind your child not to photograph faces, names or school details.
